ABOUT ME
Hi! For anyone new to my blog, my name is Amber Thomas. I'm a 22 year old college graduate with a degree in professional writing. I started this blog because I needed a place to manage my accumulation of short stories. My entries come from random, creative spurts from the depths of my imagination. When I write fiction, certain elements of my life do influence my writing. Many of my favorite things: such as dogs, music, travel, and art, make their way into my writing. I've been fabricating stories and putting them on paper ever since I was little. It allowed me to release my pent up thoughts and ideas in a creative way. Writing has always been a fun thing to do, and now I want to share it with you :)
If you care to know some random facts about me, I love animals of all shapes and sizes, and yes, I'm going to be that crazy animal lady. Right now, I am the proud owner of an Australian shepherd/ lab mix named Maddie. I live for thrills and hope to one day even go skydiving. As a designated night owl, I can be pretty grouchy if you try to talk to me early in the morning. I love thunder, and playing in the rain. One of my favorite things to do is play the piano, and I sing almost 24/7. To me, if life isn't full of spontaneity and adventure, you aren't living.
So, after sharing a little bit about myself, I want to welcome you to my blog, and I hope you enjoy what I have to offer :)
Why I Write
I write to get my thoughts on paper. I write when I'm mad or sad or frustrated. I write to let loose inner feelings I could never say out loud. My thoughts are just itching to break free. I write to be creative. I write because I like the feeling of a pen gliding across paper. I write to quench the thirst of my imagination and satisfy my hunger for adventure. I like to teach a lesson when I write. I like to inspire and give hope. I want to motivate and persuade people to keep fighting. I write because I have all the freedom I want, to do what I want, when I want. I write because there are countless stories that have yet to be told. I can't even imagine a world without writing. Really, how dull would that be? There would be no libraries or magazines or blogs. There wouldn't even be any meaningful song lyrics. Writing can affect people of all backgrounds. I write because it's my duty. I write for my friends and for my family. I write for anything and everything that has ever meant something to me. I write to make people happy, and finally, I write because it is what I love to do.
